Fast-paced roguelike platformer game

ScourgeBringer is a premium action game for PC created by Flying Oak Games and E-Studio. It is a 2D side-scrolling platformer with roguelike elements and features charming pixel graphics and art style. Players will go on a journey to battle ancient machines to remember the past and save humanity.

Mixing the free-flowing combat of Dead Cells and the movement-heavy gameplay of Celeste, ScourgeBringer is a test of reflex and skill against tough platform challenges and even tougher enemies. Players will discover their lost past while facing the entity at the center of everything.

Unravel your past

ScourgeBringer takes place in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by the arrival of a mysterious entity that wreaked havoc on humanity. You play as Kyhra, a deadly and accomplished warrior of your clan. She is on a quest to uncover her past, which is sealed and guarded by ancient machines. Thus, begins a journey filled with danger and trials, and quite possibly helps save humanity from its anguish.

Combat in this game places emphasis on offense and well-executed attacks. You will have to master your slash and dash abilities, which are your most effective ways to deal damage. There's a fair bit of platforming here that you need to overcome to progress. You come equipped with a gun for faraway enemies, but your ammo is limited, so you'll need to consider each shot you make.

In every run, you will encounter skill pillars that grant you perks and bonuses. Defeated enemies and bosses will drop blood and special currencies, which you will use to purchase items, weapons, and permanent skill upgrades. However, despite all these, the game can feel repetitive rather quickly since the combat still revolves around the same basic set of moves and attacks for the entire duration of your playthrough.

Slash, dash, repeat

If you're a fan of action platformers and want a good challenge, give ScourgeBringer a try. It offers free-flowing movement that lets you perform some really satisfying attacks and maneuvers midair. There are roguelike elements in the form of skill pillars, too. While combat variety is limited, it does not take away from the fun and tough gameplay experience you'll have. Recommended.
